Transport FAQ

Q1. Where is the ‘Aviation Carbon 2024’ venue ?

The exact address of the venue for our 2-day event is:

London Heathrow Marriott Hotel, Bath Road, Heathrow Airport, Hayes, UB3 5AN, United Kingdom

Important note:  Please be aware that just 450 metres away from the London Heathrow Marriott hotel is the similarly named, ‘Courtyard by Marriott’ Be careful not to mix them up !

Heathrow Airport Area:

Q2. How do I reach the LHR Marriott Hotel from the airport terminals?

Quickest Transfer Option

Taxis and Uber are available from all Heathrow terminals. Uber is now licensed by Transport for London authority (TfL).

Uber have their own pick-up points, not at the taxi rank, but typically in the terminal car parks, and which will be detailed in the Uber App.  Costs will vary according to distance, time of day and traffic conditions, but in our experience has ranged from £15 to £25.  When using Uber, please consider using their ‘Green Car’ option.

Hotel Shuttle Bus

The Marriott hotel does not offer its own shuttle bus service from the airport, and unfortunately the ‘Hotel Hoppa’ service no longer operates to this hotel, nor the adjacent Skyline hotel.  Many travel websites have not been updated with this important information, so please be aware!

The Hotel Hoppa bus service does operate to a nearby hotel, the Radisson Blu (not to be confused with the Radisson Red), but it is a 3-4 minute walk away and is not very pleasant in bad weather!  If you wish to use this service, the latest information is that Hotel Hoppa bus H2C departs from Terminals 2 and 3, and service H5D departs from Terminal 5.

Please be aware that just 450 metres away from the London Heathrow Marriott hotel is the similarly named, ‘Courtyard by Marriott’ !  Be careful not to mix them up There may be Hotel Hoppa services to the Courtyard hotel.

Tickets can be purchased directly from the driver.  Cash might not be accepted.  You can also pre-book lower-priced tickets from the Hotel Hoppa website, app and hotel kiosks.

You can find more information on this service at the following link: https://www.hotelhoppa.co.uk/routes-timetables/

Electric Car Transfer Service

A greener option to get to the Marriott Hotel from the airport is Heathrow’s ‘WeKnow’ electric car transfer service. It is possible to book individually or to wait together and share the journey with other travellers attending the conference.  There are service desks in all Arrivals terminals to help you organise your journey.

You can also plan your trip ahead via their website: https://www.weknowlondon.com/transport/car-transfer/

Public Bus Transport

If you choose to use public transport from the airport, Heathrow Central Bus Station is located between Terminals 2 and 3 and is just above the London Underground station.

The following local buses operate from the Central Bus Station to the Marriott at the bus stop number 19: bus numbers 105111278285.  You will need to get off at the stop ‘New Road, Harlington’ (Stop D), which is just next to the Marriott Hotel.  The journey lasts 10 to 12 minutes.

It is also possible to arrive by bus from Terminal 5 with bus number 423 from the bus stop number 6 to ‘New Road, Harlington’ (Stop D), which takes 16 minutes.  The Terminal 5 bus station is located just outside the Arrivals level of the terminal building and is above the London Underground and Heathrow Express/Elizabeth Line stations.

Please be aware that these services can become very busy and crowded at times, and can be very difficult to use when carrying luggage due to the very limited storage space in these buses.  We recommend catching a local taxi service or Uber service instead.

Cash payment is not accepted on the local ‘Transport for London’ buses.  Instead you can use an Oyster Card, a Visitor Oyster Card or a Day Travelcard, more information can be found here: https://tfl.gov.uk/fares/how-to-pay-and-where-to-buy-tickets-and-oyster

You are also able to pay with a contactless payment debit or credit card showing this logo     or buy a paper ticket at any ticket machine.  They are available 24/7 and are located inside the Central Bus Station or any London Underground or train stations.

Day Travelcard

You can also buy a paper ticket at any ticket machine. They are available 24/7 and are located inside the Central Bus Station or any London Underground or train stations.

Travelling from London by Underground

The above information applies, but you may find it more convenient to get off before the airport terminals at Hatton Cross station and catch a local bus or taxi from there.

Q3. How do I reach the LHR Marriott Hotel from another hotel in the area?

The roads around Heathrow and the Marriott get very busy at peak times. Please take this into account when travelling from your hotel to the Marriott, to allow enough time for registration once you arrive, as well as a complimentary tea or coffee and breakfast snack before the conference starts.

Most of the hotels in the area are situated along Bath Road where our conference venue, the Marriott, is also situated. Luckily, they are often within walking distance.
